Here we publish reports and photos of our trips, and tales of the occasional misadventure.

Fuerteventura Varsity Trip 2015
The most recent windsurfing Varsity trip took place from 14-21 March. This time we went all the way to the Canary Islands, to Fuerteventura. A week filled with windsurfing, sangria, and naked German people. A true paradise.

March 19th – 26th saw 32 windsurfers, surfers and kiters (oohh eerrr) from Cambridge and Oxford escape the UK for the sunnier climes of Essaouira, Morocco. Essaouira is also known as ‘The Windy City’, during our stay it certainly lived up to its name with the conditions firing all week. The geography of the town meant that the harbour provided a more sheltered area for beginners and improvers to get to grips with the basics while further down the beach the wind and waves increased, perfect for jumps and waveriding. Excellent instruction from Phil and Danielle of GetWindsurfing ensured everyone improved throughout the week. The Club Mistral centre ensured we were all kitted out with shiny new kit and remained in good humour, despite a fair few breakages!

Off the water, our hosts at Essaouira Youth Hostel took great care of us for the week. Laying on breakfast every day (unbelievable quantities of baguette!) and throwing a final night party with a massive tagine. The town itself also provided many opportunities to go exploring; the harbour with its fleet of blue fishing boats was particularly impressive.
With tales of the reef at Moulay and beach break at nearby Sidi, the trip was for many just a glimpse at what Morocco can offer. Bring on the summer!
